TO:              Regional Grand Councillors
                       District Grand Inspectors of Workings
                       Lodge Secretaries.

Dear Brethren,

In my role as the incoming Assistant Grand Master for the term 2010/2011, I will be responsible for the overall activities of the 2020 Masons. Whilst I look forward to that responsibility I am fully aware that it is one which cannot be accomplished without your assistance and support and it is with this in mind that I now write to you.

Please be assured that it is not my intention to impinge on your areas of responsibility but rather to adopt an approach which allows us to work together in ensuring the best outcome for the Grand Master’s innovative 2020 Masons Programme.

Enclosed in this mail-out is a letter to 2020 Masons and an Event Registration Form for a Conference to be held at the Bankstown District Sports Club on 11 September 2010. The purpose of the conference is to discuss the role of 2020 Masons and the contribution they can make in ensuring a sustainable future for Freemasonry in this jurisdiction.

Both the letter and Event Registration Form are self explanatory and it shall be appreciated if you would promote the Conference in your Regions/Districts/Lodges and at the same time arrange for a copy to be handed to 2020 Masons, those Masons who you consider would qualify as 2020 Masons and any other interested Brother. The invitation is also open to the partners and friends of those wishing to attend.

The proposal has the support of the Grand Master, MW Bro Dr Gregory Levenston and the Chairman, Board of Management, RW Bro Steven Green, PAGM, both of whom have indicated their intention to attend.

The Conference will take the form of facilitated discussions designed with a view to the development of an action plan which utilises the combined strengths of 2020 Masons and those experienced Masons who have worked hard to sustain Freemasonry over many years.

My wife Rima and I look forward to working with you and your partner over the next twelve months and hope to see you both at the Conference.

Yours fraternally,

Walid Mehanna, PSGW
Assistant Grand Master Designate

20/20 Masonic Conference

19 July 2010

Dear Bro 20/20 Mason,

A major responsibility attached to the role of Assistant Grand Master is to ensure that 2020 Masons achieve their full potential in ensuring that Freemasonry in this jurisdiction continues as a vibrant and sustainable organisation for future generations. I look forward to accepting that responsibility following my investiture at the Grand Proclamation on 11 August 2010; however, it is not a responsibility that can  be accomplished on my own and for this reason I seek your support for the task ahead.

It has long been my belief that effective communication is the key to success and with this in mind, I have arranged a Conference for 2020 Masons to be held on Saturday 11 September 2010 at the Bankstown District Sports Club, 8 Greenfield Parade, Bankstown, NSW 2200. The Conference will be held in the Georges River Room on level 1 and will be followed by a buffet dinner.

Details for the Conference and Dinner are as follow:

  • Conference              3.00 pm for 3.30pm. 6.00 pm close.
  • Buffet Dinner           7.00 pm. The cost of the Dinner is $35.00
  • Tea/Coffee/biscuits will be available throughout the Conference

The agenda for the Conference is still to be finalized, however, the aim is to allow maximum opportunity for input from those present on how we as 2020 Masons can best serve Freemasonry.

Invitations to attend the Conference have been sent to the Grand Master, Chairman Board of Management and the Grand Secretary.

This is a wonderful opportunity for 2020 Masons to contribute to the future of Freemasonry and for this reason my wife Rima and I hope that you and your partner will join us on the occasion.

The Freemasons’ Association (NSW & ACT) Incorporated has agreed to accept registrations and payments for the event and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with the Association in my endeavours on behalf of 2020 Masons. An Event Registration Form is included over page and should be returned to Dr Yvonne McIntyre at the address shown.

Yours fraternally.

Walid Mehanna, PSGW
Assistant Grand Master Designate.
